Closet & Botts love Christmas and in this final instalment of the Seasons series of posts I will be giving you a glimpse into our shop throughout Winter and the Festive season.

  

In the run up to Christmas we sell a range of fresh and dried wreaths. Some are plain and ready for decorating and others are ready to go. Our Turkish Laurel wreaths are always a firm favourite.

 

It's all about the Christmas window. We start planning our window design earlier in the year that we dare to admit....Its is one of our favourite jobs of the entire year. Its lots of hard work and takes an entire day to install but we love it. We always listen to Christmas music , eat our first mince pie of the year and swig from a bottle of ginger wine. It's become quite the tradition!

 

 

Dark wood, Red books, Copper, Red candles, Candy canes, Pine cones, Holly and Ivy. The elements we use elements to create a truly Festive feel are similar from year to year but we give them a tweak to bring a different atmosphere to the shop every time Christmas comes around. We go for traditional, old school Victorian Christmas. No contemporary festivities here!

Lewes late night shopping is a big deal at Closet & botts. We get through pot after pot of our delicious and warming mulled cider and find it hard to keep up with the demand for the festive treats. Carols are turned up windows get steamy as it becomes one huge game of sardines. More people than its physically possible to squeeze into the shop, descend on 196 High street and its a very cozy night all round.
