Ahhh Autumn. Here you are. Long, chilly walks followed by cozy pub lunches. Crunching through the leaves. Those deep, dark sunsets. Lots of preserving and baking. Its is a special season indeed and up next in my series of posts about seasons in the shop.
Sometimes golden, sometimes fresher and whiter, the light that streams through our window is a major factor in our window displays.
Stoneware and darker woods start to feature in the shop throughout Autumn. I cant get enough of these old marmalade jars. I use them as pen pots, utensil holders and even to hide my ugly liquid soap dispenser.
Mustards and reds. So warm and inviting. We start having candles lit in the shop throughout the day and the heating goes on. Fire pokers and log baskets start arriving and the first signs of Christmas creep in with the arrival of our lovely German advent calendars.
