The Role:
Our store in Lewes is looking for a Stock Manager to join the Closet & Botts team for a minimum of 16 hours per week, with the opportunity to work up to 30 hours per week depending on business needs. Shifts will ideally start at 8:30am (dependent on candidate availability). You will need to be flexible across weekdays, although this role will not require weekend working..
As Stock Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring stock is accurately managed across both our Shop and Warehouse locations, enabling the business to fulfil customer orders efficiently while maintaining excellent stock availability in-store. This is a hands-on role requiring strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to solve problems logically and proactively.
You will work closely with our buying, warehouse and retail teams to ensure inventory levels remain accurate, stock is replenished appropriately and products are always stored in the correct location.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Managing and maintaining stock levels across both Shop and Warehouse locations.
- Updating and maintaining the Stock Master and Stock Management systems.
- Adding new products to stock systems.
- Balancing inventory between locations to ensure accurate stock availability and efficient order fulfilment.
- Receiving deliveries and distributing stock between the Warehouse and Shop locations.
- Managing stock transfers between locations to maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Monitoring low stock levels and communicating replenishment requirements to the buying team.
- Carrying out regular stock counts and inventory audits to ensure stock accuracy.
- Ensuring products are stored correctly and shelves are organised, tidy and easily accessible for picking teams.
- Investigating and resolving stock discrepancies and inventory issues.
- Supporting the wider Warehouse and Retail teams with stock-related tasks as required.

- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- A logical and analytical approach to problem solving.
- Confident using Microsoft Excel, Apple Numbers or similar spreadsheet software, with the ability to manipulate and analyse stock data.
- Comfortable working on Apple Mac computers and learning new software and systems.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multiple teams.
- Ability to follow processes and continually improve them where appropriate.
- Physically capable of lifting boxes and moving stock safely.
Experience:
- Experience using inventory management systems, spreadsheets or retail stock platforms would be advantageous.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Apple Numbers or similar spreadsheet software to manage, analyse or maintain data.
- Previous stock control, inventory management, warehouse or retail operations experience is preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
- Comfortable driving a small van between locations when required.
- Able to undertake manual handling duties associated with moving stock between sites.
- Confident using Apple Mac computers and common office software, including Microsoft Excel, Apple Numbers or equivalent spreadsheet applications.

Contract Type: Permanent Part Time
Hours of Work: Minimum 16 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Hourly Wage: Depending on experience
